Oh, they went there... as if the Eldar didnt already have the most weapons or weirdness... Hopefully most of these things are just re-names of things already available...
But also, did they have to go so eastern on naming things? Who is writing the Dex anyway... I do realize the army has had tendencies which lean toward certain philosophies and belief systems... but now its like they are just being blatant in regards to hammering the idea home...
Of course I am excited to see the new dex... it just seems odd...

Multiple rumors listing Eldar next after Tau. Release list from Rogue Star via 75Hastings69 on Warseer: Tau - April Eldar - June Space Marines - August Orks - October Tyranids - December Imperial Guard - February
www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?364126-Tau-rumours/page87It should be noted that Hastings is very accurate and got the last 6 months correct. However, he has only confirmed the order of the above list, not the dates. If we get Eldar in June, that will be 4 codexes in first 6 months of this year. That would be amazing. Also, the "leaked" model list in the original post above are almost definitely bunk. Everything else predicted in the big "rumor dump" last year has proven false and is either wish listing or an elaborate and cruel hoax.

- Jetbikes (plastic; possible dual-kit with Shining Spears)
- Fighter/Bomber dual-kit (plastic)
- Giant Wraith Construct (plastic)
- One rumored name is "Wraith Knight"
- Basically a Wraithlord as big as a Riptide
- Main weapon: "Pulsar Lance"; primary fire mode: 36" S:8 AP2 Heavy 2, Lance; overcharge mode (weapon may not fire next turn) 48" S:10 AP1 Heavy 1, Blast, Lance (from Bigred @ BOLS)

Some new sneaky pics of next month's White Dwarf bring some more news of Eldar (compiled from Warseer and Dakka Dakka): Confirmed Releases:- Codex - 104 pages and a gorgeous cover
- Farseer - Plastic blister
- Wraithknight - Plastic
- Giant Walker or Monstrous Creature (not sure which yet)
- Armed with shoulder-mounted weapons, a large shield, and either some giant cannon or a sword as long as a tank!
- Piloted by a living Eldar AND his/her dead twin's spirit stone (dark!)
- Flier - Picture is the cover of the White Dwarf, so it IS confirmed, but no other information confirmed yet (see below)
- Iyanden Supplement - A book with missions, paint schemes, and possibly alternate rules to play the Iyanden Ghost Warriors
Rumored Releases:- Wraithguard / Wraithblades dual kit (plastic)
- The confirmed Flier has 2 different rumored alternate builds
- Rumor 1: Hemlock Wraithfighter (a psychic bomber) and Nightshade Interceptor (fighter)
- Rumor 2: Hemlock Wraithfighter (a psychic bomber) and Crimson Hunter (Aspect Warrior fighter)
- Spiritseer - Finecast
- Illic Nightspear (outcast assassin) - Finecast
- Jetbikes - Current rumor is NO NEW JETBIKES, just a repackage of the old style
- Dire Avengers - Current plastic boxset of 10 repackaged with 5 for roughly the same price
Here are the main threads for discussion and pictures: Dakka Dakka: www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/463557.pageWarseer (no pictures from White Dwarf allowed on this site): www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?372781-Eldar-rumours-*DO-NOT-POST-OR-LINK-TO-PICS-OF-WHITE-DWARF*Don't care about the new giant Walkers (although Riptide is pretty cool) or Fliers, so I have not seen anything I am excited about. Maybe when we see pics of Wraithguard. I am actually in a minor nerd-rage over the lack of Jetbikes. They are so NEEDED. Far too old and outdated and vital to the army to leave them as is. And cutting the number of Dire Avengers while keeping the price the same!?!?! I was seriously thinking of starting this army, but no new Jetbikes, no new plastic Aspects, AND effectively doubling the price of the only Aspect in plastic... the nerd-rage is too high! I think I need to watch the Man of Steel trailer again to calm down.

[/li][li]Iyanden Supplement - A book with missions, paint schemes, and possibly alternate rules to play the Iyanden Ghost Warriors[/li][/ul] Rumored Releases:- Jetbikes - Current rumor is NO NEW JETBIKES, just a repackage of the old style
- Dire Avengers - Current plastic boxset of 10 repackaged with 5 for $35; the current boxset of 10 is $37.25
I really like the idea of Aspect Warrior pilots. Not sure if it is a different model/head. I like the Wraithguard very much, and can't wait to see what all their weapon options can do. Illic Nightspear is a contender for the best single model GW has ever made. A really fantastic sculpt.

[/li][li]Dire Avengers - Current plastic boxset of 10 repackaged with 5 for $35; the current boxset of 10 is $37.25

Wait a second...are you saying that GW is giving us twice the Dire Avengers for only $2.25 more? Seriously? That doesn't sound like the normal GW I know! Could this be a sign from God? GW has seen the error of their ways and are now ready to provide their customers with a long-needed price break?!?! This is a MIRACLE! This is--
Oh. You mean they were $37.25 for 10 and will now be $35 for 5. Yeah, that sounds like the GW I know.

A lot of pictures and examples of rules and stats have posted.
The big one I have waited for:
Shuriken Catapult = S4, AP5, Assault 2, Bladestorm (To Wound roll of 6 auto-wounds with AP2)
I can't believe that not only they did not increase the range, but they effectively made a shuriken BETTER than a bolter round?!? I thought it was silly that a spinning piece of plastic was AS STRONG as an exploding mini-missile, but now they are effectively STRONGER!
I still think it would have been better to increase the range, increase the number of shots, and lower the strength.

Good thing I already have 20 Dire avengers.... $35.00 for 5??? That barely makes any sense! I mean really?
But that giant Knight thing is tempting... a little pricey but kinda cool!
I am still holding out to see whats in the well covered tome.... Ap 2 on 6s... they are really trying to sell dire avengers... although shouldn't their strength be less, but their ap lower than a bolter?
Anyway, I am trying to hold any expectations and excitement until we know more!

The Eldar Codex was released today. A lot of info and screen pics are floating around, and I caught a quick glance.
Some good, in descending order:
3. Ghost Warriors. Apparently Eric Idle was outside the writer's room, banging his pot, because the Eldar have brought out their dead. There are Wraithlords and Wraithguard (with new weapon options) as before, and they are joined by Wraithblades, the Wraithknight, the Wraithfighter, and a new Independent Character Spiritseer to lead them all. Plus, I think Wraithsight is gone (Not sure, though).
2. Speed. Army-wide Fleet and a new rule called Battle Trance, which allows most infantry to Run and Shoot in the same turn; the usual Fast vehicles; Jetbikes are Troops; and even the Dark Reapers have Relentless, which means they can move and fire Heavy Weapons. Expect this army to swarm over objectives at the last moment and be crazy-hard to engage.
1. Psykers. Lots of complaints before that Eldar were not represented in-game as the "masters of the warp" they were intended to be. To those complainers: you can shut up now. Warlocks have their own psychic discipline with 7 choices of 2 powers each! If you take a Warlock power, you essentially get the opposite power also (e.g. The power Conceal/Reveal lets you either give your unit Shrouded or take AWAY Shrouded from an enemy unit). Farseers are Mastery Level 3 and their psychic discipline includes most of the old powers with some really powerful new ones. Even though half their powers take 2 Warp Tokens, a Farseer could use one of these REALLY hurty powers and STILL use another power the same turn. If your head hurts thinking about going against a psyker-heavy Eldar army, you probably just had Mind War cast on you.
Some bad, in descending order:
3. Shuriken Catapults are STILL only 12" range. The entire army got some movement buffs to increase their "effective" range, but I still think they should have made them longer range (and other changes suggested in previous posts).
2. Guardians are WS4 and BS4. What? MAYBE an argument could be made for BS4 due to superior tech and Eldar eyesight, but why the HELL do a bunch of conscripted poets, gardeners, jizz moppers, and mid-level Wraithbone supply managers have the same WS as Space Marines and Orks?!? It is preposterous and a poor excuse to sell Guardian-swarm armies, which should not exist for a supposedly dying race.
1. Dire Avengers doubled in price. Rat-bastard, lilly-livered, sassa-frassin, horn-swagglers! (These old-timey swears brought to you by Yosemite Sam and Gabby Johnson from Blazing Saddles). Damnit GW! Seriously! This had cost them a lot of money from me, so maybe I should be grateful.
Overall, looks like a very promising Codex with a couple oversights. Too bad their money grubbing ensured I will not start this army any longer.
