From Stickmonkey at Warseer: Looks like a mini wave for ork players is otw. Looks like this will slot in sometime in spring 2013 by my estimate... Wave contents: Ork buggy/half track Dakka/skorcha/rokket plastic (3x box) priced like Necron wraiths Deffcopters all options plastic (3x box) priced like Terminators Meganobs all options plastic (5x box) priced like terminators Flashgits upgrade finecast (3x clamshell) priced like boneswords Cybork upgrade finecast (3x clamshell) priced like boneswords Cheers www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?343257-Ork-wave-prep-for-Spring-2013I know I am excited. Plastic Meganobs would be great, and I suppose upgrade packs for Flash Gits is an effective way to get them on the shelves (should have put the parts in the Nobs box in the first place).

A couple of weeks ago I would have been stoked and very excited to see this. After word of the last price hike, all I have to say is "GW can suck my big, fat [censored]!"

As halloween was the releaseish date for necrons... a December "Green" tide could make sense...
Especially as green is one of the xmas colors...
Although as said by Sin in another thread... the Ork dex struggles against some and doesnt really contain "broken" units...
Yes bikes are really good, but they are points costed really high... Same with deffcoptas... and well everything else...
I will be sad when the dex is retired... that a person can play it effectively in so many builds to this day, imho, is a tribute to its great design...
What will happen next? Hopefully more plastics! Wartrakks, maybe an official warboss on bike model, dakka jets in codex, some kind of dedicated anti-air, something besides powerklaws to deal with armor... Lets hope the model rumors are true!
Mostly I think flashgitz will get the plastic kit... and they will be over priced and undercosted points wise...

>you DO realize his handle is "SIL Odan," don't you, Johnny?
but yes, i'm sure there'll be Flash Gitz (at least i'm praying to Tzeentch there will be), as well as Deff Koptaz(!) finally. not to say the old ones were bad, but it'll be kinda nice not to have to buy an AOBR set just to get 3 every time you want more. or shop eBay and get raped by assholes with dollar signs in their eyes. i have six, but it'd be nice to have more, preferably with some damn OPTIONS. as in, not having to KONVERT them to have multi-shootaz, big bommz, and buzz sawz.
as for the wartrakk/warbuggy/skorcha/etc, kit. again, i'm praying to the Lord of Change for that one.<

Quite all right, jolly ol' chap. I thought Sin sounded kind of cool...like it added a little street cred to my reputation.
Flash gitz would be good, but I'm in agreement with getting another option to deal with armour. Power Klaws are awesome, but something ranged would be nice. It's true, Orks couldn't hit the barnside of a broad, but still...maybe a S9, S10 option (that was always S10 w/o having to roll lucky to get it) would be nice. Twin-linked rokkits on a deffkopta are definitley the way to go, so I have no complaints about the model there.

Maybe Kustom Blastas could go up in Strength? They are too close to Rokkit stats as is, anyway. It could make Meks more viable.

I agree. I never bother taking Kustom Blastas; they cost more, only lower AP penetration values by one and have the chance to wound the mek. Not worth it in my opinion. If they go up to S9, that would make me consider using them. If they go to S10...I'd definitely throw a few into my lists.

@sil: How worried are you that a codex change will render the ork dex incomplete? It is great now! and I think with the influx of boyz out there... they are going to go up in points cost(keeping the same profile) so that players go after dakka jets or some other new model in a typical cash pull by gw?
@everyone: Why would orks only reliable anti-armor be a powerklaw? I know they are "fierce" and their tech is random... to say the least... but it seems like something is missing...

That being true... lootas are great for light armor as well... but its like its intentional that heavy armor is their bane... But it doesnt seem balanced to me... Hell even the nids have a tyrannofex, when they have plenty of big bugs who would love to crack a landraider in half...
