Matt, let me know when I start sounding like the Judge from Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Have you guys seen the rumors re: GW releases being delayed due to a lawsuit? For the most part it doesn't effect us so much, but the Wick will have to hold on a little longer for more Tyranid mandible-mashing goodness. www.lounge.belloflostsouls.net/showthread.php?p=159991#post159991

They do tend to suck everything out of life. But I'm still holding out to see if this is th truth, or mere speculation. We shall see.

From what I was reading, the release of the minis would actually give them more ground to stand on as without a product line for the conversions being offered they dont really have a great reason to sue for losses... How can you sue for lost revenue when you don't sell a product?
Yes intellectual property rights were violated by the use of GW terms, but we will have to see the outcome of the case to see if it is significant enough to cause issue to make a legal precedent.
After reading the lawsuit it seemed a bit odd as many entrepreneurs make products for things they themselves do not manufacture. The auto industry is a perfect example. There are body kits, there are fuel enhancers, there are spark plugs the list goes on...
I am sure these auto makers get confused customers calling them all of the time complaining that this body kit was supposed to fit their car or that this accessory was supposed to work flawlessly with this engine(a claim GW is trying to make about these products and their customer complaints)... If people have been aloud to produce this stuff for many years for auto accessories, it seems logical that making your own accessory products and selling them is totally legit.
It seems to me more likely that they were trying to scare away competition in a legal way... but I don't feel like it will effect the mini releases... People will buy them but are settling for other options when none else are available... Seems like reasonable business to me...

Hmmm...an interesting "leak"...could be fake...but appears to indicate a big release for GW on Bastille Day 2012. 6th edition, perhaps?

I find it interesting that the document indicates "Project Prisoner", the release date (July 14th) falls on Bastille Day and the document mentions a "new army". I wonder if there is some corellation? Perhaps a French Space Marine chapter, and all the figures will be armed with whilte flags...

I can hear each of your voices in my head as I read your comments. They even get higher pitched as you each get agitated. >ditto.<

Thank you for restraining the urge to compare the French to the Eldar WazzDakka!
I am a bit interested in how much savings are actually going to exist in the mega box kits shown in the advert which came with the Necron White Dwarf. Also will they be for all armies or just a few???

This was posted on Warseer...curious to see how this pans out.
Lord Commissar Aquila wrote:
Ok, so I was talking with someone who has connections to one of the model designers, and this is what he told me:
1. The Eldar dex will be out right before the release of 6th edition. Phil Kelly is the writer, which is why he wasn't able to write up the Cron codex.
2. 6th Ed will be released in June or July of next year (2012) if everything goes to plan; its currently in playtesting right now.
3. The starter set might be the Fall of Damnos, but he said he wasn't completely sure it would be set there. It will include Space Marines, of course.
4. CSM will get one of the newest dexes in 6th, right after the Marine dex.
5. Tau and BT will get a release soon after CSM; other races updated in 5th will not be updated in 6th as their rules (at least from Guard onwards) are allready suited for 6th. Ward will probably do the BT and might do Tau as well. DA will probably not be updated anytime soon, because its not a popular army and GW does not want to waste money updating one or more armies that almost no one plays with a separate dex. (...) He told me, in no uncertain terms, that Tau and BT will be getting an update soon after CSM (Tau first).

That's more acronyms then a Tom Clancy novel! I gather CMS is Chaos Space Marine, DA is Dark Angels, BT is Bodacious Tatas, and GW is Gigantic Wang.

Correct on the first two; the ones you missed were BT = Black Templars and GW = Gay Wads. Though I do love me some Bodacious Tatas.

The only thing I which seems to differ from what was previously out there was that the space marines released with the box set were going to be DA. Along with the Chaos release as further rumored by this "leak."
To me a DA release would make more sense... Besides that they need an update as much as BT, but also C:SM got an update fairly recently. I have a lot of fun playing the dex and think there are many great options available. As Servo has shown, its still very competitive. Furthermore, GW just updated all of the faqs to be current with the Smurf dex. So it makes less sense to me personally.
I realize the rumor mill is busy, and these are just reports of speculation, but GW is out to make cash. If the DA is not selling, it would make more sense from there previous endeavors to add DA into the mix, give ravenwing and deathwing some silly powers(like Jaws of the world wolf for example when space wolves were becoming obsolete) and have power gamers spew forth ropy jets of jizz in the form of cash in order to make unstoppable tournament armies. Until the next dex is released...
