This was the thread titled "Rumors". We now have a whole forum just for rumors rather than just this one thread, so I changed the name since most of the thread is discussing WH40K v.6.
Unfortunately we cannot move single posts to new or existing threads. So if you have other stuff in this thread not related to WH40K v.6 that you would like to put in a new thread, feel free to re-post and delete any of your posts.

For Eldar I found this tastey nugget on Bell of Lost Souls Eldar mid to late 2012. Possibly 1st or 2nd official 6 ed codex
Guardians being redone. Will include new weapons platform and storm guardian bits.
Avatar getting new fine cast version with weapon options (spear/sword) not as big as FW model, but larger than current.
Lots of new mech options. Jump pack/jet options for walkers similar to new FW models, but unclear if this is new model or upgrade to current model. Upgrade packs don't seem likely, and current model is decent, so I have my doubts about this rumor completely.
New tank options...built on wave serpent/falcon chassis still. Hydra like flak turret, Bonuses against flyers and skimmers. Dcannon tank. And some pulse cannon monster tank...scorpion?
New jet bikes and vypers.
New warlock sculpts.
New aspect sculpts, aspects still likely fine cast.
Some sort of shimmershield device. Portable cover save for a unit, but static once deployed...model in design for it. Sounds fishy to me? But the de have the portal...who knows, I say unlikely.
From obvious dept comes the nightwing and some form of bomber. Neither look at all like de ships, or existing FW. Definitely eldar.
Drop pod of some sort that can carry 20 troops, 10 wraith guard, or 1 wraith lord. Deploys as firebase that has higher cover rating for guardians. Sounds like a bastion that drops into play with a weapons platform attached. Not sure I buy into this rumor completely, it seems too complex the way it's been described. And I never saw any evidence of this in design before.
Cheers. Still super long off, though. Have your salt hand
sounds good.... maybe even awesome!!!

I personally have been have been waiting for news on Necrons as I feel they are looooong overdue... Bell of lost sould contributed this quote... Take it for hat it is... a rumor
...Necrons have completed the initial concept phase of their line expansion. Release schedule is currently for January 2011.
This conceptual phase has been stop-start for some time – it is a product range that has massive potential, and Games Workshop have been very uncertain of the most lucrative theme by which to capitalise on its fanbase. The development is considered a high-risk investment – a commitment problem that the team is well aware of, and is exacerbated by there being multiple such high-risk line expansions currently being pursued.
3 multi-part plastic kits have been finalised as:
- Immortals - Spyders - The Necromancer
Immortals are on a large (35mm) base; they are redesigned as larger, bulkier and more dynamic.
Spyders have 3 different builds
The Necromancer is the central sell of the line expansion and has been the focus of much of the early design process. It has been through several incarnations (and names), but is essentially of the same principle as the Bone Giant for the Warhammer Fantasy range. It has a mechanised skeletal torso housing a suspended crystal, and will likely have a choice between two horrific weapons.
That is all the information I can disclose. I will not post any more....
in my mind this means we can expect even more awesomeness besides this stuff... maybe a whole restructuring of the way the list works!!! Awesome on all accounts this line needs more than just a few tweeks imho!!

I'm so excited....and I just can't hide it...
Even with all the new stuff, the biggest rumor I want to be true is that immortals will have the option to be taken as a troop choice. Necrons always needed a second troop choice, and if the lower point cost also becomes true then I will own hordes of them

Sadly, this page made its way around the rumor boards a few months ago and has since been debunked as a fake. Some of it may come true, but the page itself is fan-created. There was a 2nd fake, too: natfka.blogspot.com/2011/05/leaked-necron-pages.htmlNo one can actually prove if these are real or not, but most "people in the know" have called them fake.

As much as I would love to see the day necron warriors are base cost 10 points a piece... I dont think losing 1 ws and 1 ld, plus gaining 1 I will be the way it happens... Which is why the first one is a bit more of what I was looking for in a new necron warrior stat line vs cost. There was also this drawing "by Jes Goodwin" (maybe unrelated to any gw persons by the same name): i.minus.com/jbiG7UOgOYoG7.jpgshowing the alleged war barque. Im sure its all just fan fiction, but please GW take note because its pretty cool!!!!

Also... Oh this is where we put credible rumors, not make them up or propagate untruths... My mistake... It said rumors... JK
In all seriousness has anyone heard anything about 6th edition?? I havnt been able to find too much.... It seems like the rumor mill is working overtime now explaining certain codexes as being 6th even though it has not been released.
The most specific example being the new GreyKnight codex. However, also based in rumor and hearsay I was reading the nid tactica on warseer and one of the members was saying that the codex makes more sense from the rumors of 6th edition trying to explain that some of its shortcomings would make more sense in a sixth environment based on rumors...
I find this interesting as I have seen little in the way of rumors regarding 6th edition, does anyone have any news on this?

I've seen a few rumors about 6th edition, but most forums thought it was wish-listing and fan-created rather than a credible leak. I did think it was interesting that some rumors indicated overwatch will make a comeback. I hope that part is true; I always thought that was a good rule.

Wow! These are huge changes if true.
The biggest change is Close Combat before Shooting. I have to think about that one.
Here are some of my other thoughts:
Good: - Possibility for multiple saves on a model. - Reactions to Actions: Seems a little complicated, but I like giving units being shot at some options. - Victory Points: I really like this. You collect VPs throughout the game based on kills and holding objectives. The objectives needs to be tweaked a little, but I really like that you get points for every turn you hold it.
Bad: - Multiple "levels" for rules like Feel No Pain; I would not want to keep track of it all. - Vehicle Damage Chart: Gah! Why are they making them MORE survivable? Vehicles are too hard to kill as it is. And can someone explain to me how if your transport EXPLODES while you are in it you only take a S3 hit? - Strategems: Hate them. Most of them are terrible ideas.

I should have known your sneaky gitz would pull through on this one wazzdakka!!! 1st and foremost if it is real... Its about time witchblades are force weapons... I mean really it has taken this long... 2nd If true the nid dex really does make a lot more sense... Like the hive tyrant only having a 3+ save if he gets wings(now can fly above), genestealers, or almost any other unit for that matter, with no offfensive grenades(now a strategem) for example... 3rd the new outflanking rules are a bit better... less random more availability for actual strategy... not roll and pray... but does seem like it makes it a better option than ever... Servo: Let me try to explain... This game takes place in the future, if the designers of tanks and troop carriers didnt figure out a way to make them relatively safe, then why wouldnt they just pod everyone in? Or teleport them or something... I like the brace idea, its like any submarine movie where they brace for the impact of an incoming torpedo... The real reason, how else are they going to get people to buy them? They are totally a for profit company now... in the beginning they were more gamers... Obviously I have rejected the non-tank infantry idea as it doesnt fluff right for me... Even today our troops ride around in armored humvees... the rhino is just the year 40000 equivalent... Yah, the multiple levels thing is probably going to be a pain in the backside, but it seems like they are going for a multi-pronged attack. They are trying to address the realism factor, they are trying to address the long gameplay factor, and they want to make money... In a different report I found on warseer it said many of the same things... probably a copy and paste, except they also mentioned the new box set releases... dark angels and CSM though I cant find the link now of course... The report said that there would be two boxes one for each... Sounds about right for the idea of selling more units... It is way different... but 5th was a bit of a change as well... so I guess we will have to see...

The "future"? Where is this strange and amazing place that you are so patiently explaining to me as if I were 6 years old?
If a transport gets obliterated (even a transport from the mythical "future") leaving only a smoking crater, how can troops walk away with little or no harm, but then fall the next turn to basic ranged weapon fire? The real reason, as you said, is sales. They want people to buy transports, so they made them unrealistically tough.
And you say it is more "fluffy" or realistic to have transports for troops? I would agree if this were Epic, but not necessarily at this scale. 40K is played at approximately 1:60 scale, which means a 6ft board represents 120 yards (the length of a football field with endzones). If you were having a firefight in today's military in a city/forest/hilly area the size of a football field, how many times would you get in and out of your Humvee?
Of course, us trying to use present-day, pseudo-realistic situations to justify the mechanics of a game is a little silly. GW is not trying for realism, nor should they. They should be trying for balance, though.
I also like "Outflank" and I agree that "Bracing" sounds cool, especially since the vehicle is then "Suppressed". But the explanation of "Suppressed" is hard to follow.

As if GW will ever give consideration or commitment to anything other than how to squeeze the most money out of their consumer base. Ha ha ha ha ha!
