There was a HUGE rumour dump on the site theonering.net by a supposed anonymous, disgruntled GW employee. The list showed all GW models for The Hobbit and WH40K to be released next year after June up to an unknown time. Here is the Imperial Guard stuff: - Imperial Guard Storm Troopers / Iron Cloak Veterans, Plastic- box
- Imperial Guard Hydra, Plastic- box

Sounds good, just hope too much does not change. Like the Ork dex, this one in its 5th edition stylings still looks to be fieldable in many variants. If they make it too flyer centric, it might just ruin the whole thing...
To say the least I am a little nervous on them touching this one. Although, so far, besides Death Wing, almost all of the dexes have been a breath of fresh air, so I hope the trend continues...

Rumors from Bell of Lost Souls:
Looking forward to new Stormtroopers. They deserve some kick-ass multipart plastics.
Not sure about return of Doctrines. If they are simple but characterful like the new SM Chapter Tactics, that could be good. If they are over-the-top like the old Doctrines, I will try to limit myself to an eye roll or two.

I agree about the doctrines... I was under the impression that removing them was seen as a positive. Although if they raise the cost on some things(mainly the Vendetta) or new flyers, some sort of doctrine single use bonuses might not be so bad.
The issue right now is that the guard are not a glass cannon... They are more like an Iron Trebuchet. Let me explain... Most of the army(at its core and to play fluffy) is a weak easy to destroy gunline. But it is a gunline which hurls dangerous projectiles many times inaccurately. Though they do have armor which offers some strength, it is more to the effect of giving infiltrators a tough choice when it comes to outflanking.
They do have mobility in chimeras or Valkeries... but they are not unstoppable. Valkyries/Vendettas were probably the bees knees when there was no Skyfire, but now a smart opponent will arm themselves with it. Plus a quadgun does bad things.
Last I heard the paratrooper doctrine was totally broken because the whole force could deepstrike. This meant a player could cover the board in heavy weapons platforms and make things overly difficult for an opponent while they ride around with russes causing issue. That seems too strong!
If the doctrines are more like the space marines chapter tactics it will be much more fair.
As for new models... maybe I would pick up a vets box for special weapons or sergeants... But I already have most of them painted... why would I buy more?
Stormtroopers on the other hand... Im thinking lots of juicy bits and hopefully some good options... Plus Karskins are already kind of cool models... so they will have to be really great or I will just pick up some metal ones which are out of vogue.
Exciting stuff though...

The big rumor for Imperial Guard is that they will not be "Imperial Guard" any more. Battle Sisters changed their name to a Latin-ized and copyrightable "Adepta Soriritas", and now the Imperial Guard will apparently be called "Astra Militarum". Some even say the next Space Marines codex will be called "Adeptus Astartes". The other reason for the name change is that this codex will include more than the Guard. One example of this is Imperial KNIGHTS ! If you don't know, Knights are mini-Titans: ![](http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y445/azrealxiii/69982e836ed35df5d96917fee46c2979_zps8024abe0.jpg) Wow! Those look awesome. Also, rumors are being "confirmed" by many sources that plastic Storm Troopers and Ogryns/Bullgryns are coming for the formerly-Imperial Guard.

As I texted Servo about this... Yes very cool models... and for their size, reasonably costed (30 tactical marines) But to me, and Sil maybe you would second this, they look almost too much like Warmachine Cygnar Warjacks...
It's really all I see when I look at them... I mean even the exhaust pipes are placed in the same place... The head/necks look similarly created...
It makes me wonder if GW stole some sculptors from Warmachine...

GAAAHHH!!!!!! What the living, gasping, raging, fething HELL! This is the most disappointed I have been in GW models in years, UGH! I am not even sure I want to share these pics... First, try to keep this straight: Imperial Guard are now called "Astra Militarum"; Storm Troopers are now called "Militarum Tempestus Scions"; and the new MTSs will be included in a new supplemental codex called "Militarum Tempestus". I feel sick. Under protest, here are the new models: New RIDICULOUS Taurox transport (plastic), Militarum Tempestus Scions, and supplemental Codex: Militarum Tempestus (online only) Taurox Militarum Tempestus Scions Codex: Astra Militarum cover![](http://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-AtIOCS6qNuA/UxzDb097RsI/AAAAAAAABgY/EFtwjS2lm2w/w588-h784-no/Codex+AM.jpg) It looks like the "Storm Troopers" may have head variants, which is good because I do not like the 2nd Edition style berets. But, if they had proper Kasrkin/SWAT heads I might like the models. There is no excuse for the Taurox. Just pathetic.

More Guard releases: Ogryns/Bullgryns dual kit (plastic)![](http://i.imgur.com/QwLpPAX.jpg) ![](http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qt2zmRW8u0I/Ux9GZWN5gCI/AAAAAAAA_dk/NWkaSciZiYY/s1600/1234917_10153918449390037_31427628_n.jpg) ![](http://i.imgur.com/f1aw5zO.jpg) ![](http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-V5KdkhKgRK4/Ux9GSAvWiXI/AAAAAAAA_dc/qNc6XbIFaoM/s1600/1010288_10153918454460037_1577077565_n.jpg) ![](http://i.imgur.com/gG72V79.jpg) The first 2 are standard Ogryns. I love the Ripper Guns. The second 2 are the new "Bullgryns", which are apparently crowd control brutes. They might be meant to go with the new MT Scions or Adeptus Arbites. The fifth picture is probably a "Bonehead", which is a slightly smarter sergeant-level character for the squad. *** UPDATE: The fifth Ogryn picture is not a Bonehead, it is Nork Deddog, an Ogryn special character around since 2nd edition. *** Hydra (plastic)![](http://i.imgur.com/8XGWQuJ.jpg) Good model; only surprised it took so long. Not sure if it is part of a dual kit.
