>sorry ladz, i forgot my camera, so i'll be pretty concise in my wording on this short tutorial...
Grot Orderlies for Painboyz
Materials Needed:
one plastic or metal grot carrying a simple hand weapon (knife, one-handed-pistol, etc)
cutting strip from a tinfoil box (that toothy metal strippy thing)
round toothpick (or cocktail stick, if you're a limey git)
super glue
green stuff (if you're feeling ambitious)
This one is easy. cut off the top bit of the grot's existing weapon (across the top of his hand). dig a shallow groove where the original handle was with the tip of a knife if you'd like. set grot aside.
take the strip from the tinfoil box and cut as long a length as you'd like the bonesaw to be. flatten out with a hammer if you need to. take your toothpick and cut off the pointy ends. with a good xacto blade, split the toothpick lengthwise down the middle. get it as central as you can, which is a little tricky. but toothpicks are cheap.
once you've got a good split, put a little glue on each side of the blade you cut in the last step, then put the toothpick halves on it to make the handle. pinch tightly together with a pair of pliers until the glue has set to the metal - didn't take me very long.
once that's dry, you gots a bonesaw! attach to the grot's hand (using the divot if you dug one) with glue and you have an acceptable grot orderly!
now, if you want to be more creative, flatten out a VERY thin strip of green stuff and wrap it around the lower part of the grot's head and press it into the nose, mouth and chin - you're basically just trying to obscure most of his facial details, but not remove them completely. fashion a little knot (a tiny ball and two teeny strips) for the back of the "wrap" and viola! surgical mask!
i'm working on an experimental syringe at home right now - if it works out, i'll add to this thread. other ideas i've come up with include short cuts of the thinnest sewing needles with the very tips bent/curved slightly, large, clumsy pliers made from plasticcard (two parts, painstakingly cut and shaped - very tricky), and a tiny stethoscope made of thin wire and green stuff. consult the interweb for photos of a set. i'll leave you with these ideas for now, ladz. Git ta kunvertin!' <
