Trying out the voting thread and asking how long our rounds should be....personally I like 1 week, but 2 wouldn't be bad either.

I would say one night per week... "guys night" doesn't seem to outrageous.... especially if somehow the wives/girfriends are included... but setting up a once every two weeks mandatory cycle is more reasonable... maybe set things up so that games can be played sooner, but dont have to be... I could tell tensions were running high for the last campaign so it seems better for a longer time frame to give time for childcare etc... sorry non married guys... but its a real issue. Then if someone cannot spare a day in two weeks eject them from the campaign... mitigating circumstances of course apply.... like a medical emergency etc... not "Im a big pussy who is too scared to play"... Or a gentleman's agreement that does not effect other players... I mean we are all friends after all.... without rules and schedules there could be effect prolonging everything and really you want to set a finish date.... not going to be possible 100%with kids busting limbs, girlfriends getting pregnant, etc... #1 rule should be fun in my opinion... speaking of ERIC where are those wolves?

We've discussed making this a 6 month campaign. Basically playing till the sun returns. That means it will cross all of the holidays. Those of us with kids will have limited availability at times. I say a game every two weeks or we declare up to 3 moves and have a month to fit them all in.

I like the idea of a game every two weeks, but that means some people may have to play two or more games in that same period if they are challenged by multiple opponents. I'm all for playing, but if I find I have three games in a two week period AND have to plan those games around the schedules of two other people...it could get messy.

Instead of a set time limit, we could choose the time limit per round?
All challenges will be issued on the same day, so we can negotiate the time limit for that round then. That way we can account for holidays, soccer games, date nights, and interventions.
If a busy person only has 2 games in a round, he may say 2 weeks is fine, but 5 games in a round might warrant 4 weeks.

That would work better than designating a specific timeframe, especially for the holidays when most people might be busy making plans with family. If there are multiple challenges that extend the round past two weeks, I'm sure anyone who's just waiting for the next round can squeeze in a pick up game to keep skills sharp.

I like the way you think Tim. I'd like to subscribe to your newsletter ... which will probably just be this forum... which I created. Anyway, negotiated timeframes per round is simple and reasonable.

that makes sense....I keep forgetting about this silent bid for challenges. Everyone could all try to attack me for instance...that would make me scured ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png)
