I am finally prepared to start painting my Ork horde.
After spending some time combing through the inter-webs for the best (or easiest) way to paint Ork flesh, I am thoroughly and intensely... undecided.
I know a few of you have your own Ork hordes, so please share your techniques or others you may have heard of.
Thanks!

I almost forgot, here is the "official" GW Ork painting scheme from their "How to Paint Citadel Miniatures":
1) Undercoat: Black 2) Basecoat: Waaagh! Flesh (possibly formerly Orkhide Shade) 3) Wash: Biel-Tan Green (formerly Thraka Green) 4) Layer: Warboss Green (formerly Goblin Green) 5) Layer: Skarsnik Green (new color, looks like a lighter Goblin Green)

Here's my two-cents:
For ork flesh, I will prime the model black and give it a coat of Dark Angels Green, after which I use Snot Green to hit most of the raised areas (leaving the crevices Dark Angel's Green). I then use a 50/50 mix of bleached bone and goblin green to dry brush the raised areas. A wash of green follows, and then then I do a very light highlight of Bleached Bone. I may make slight adjustments depending on how light or dark I want the boyz to come out, but that's pretty much it.
And yes, I referenced the old paint line. I refuse to accept someone else's mandate forcing unnecessary change upon the population...until I feel I am ready to allow it.

>i'm with the beige ork on this one, i REFUSE to use the new paint names. ask for my orkflesh, i start with Orkhide Shade over black, followed by a Thraka Green wash. once thats dry, i use a heavy drybrush of Catachan Green, and finalized with a lighter drybrush of Camo Green.<

I am not much of a help o this one... Dora whipped up a green paint from her canvas painting box and we used this as a base coat for the flesh.... On top of black it was stunning... I just drybrush goblin green on top pf that and do detail work.... Easy, efficient, and looks good! I mean you have to paint a million of these buggers so make it easy and process driven... First base coat Add skin base Dry brush flesh Paint pants Paint belts paint belt buckles paint all guns and arms glue..... Paint base
