Battlescribe is an army list builder which is free and online. The list of options from a Codex is kept in a "catalog" datafile. Due to GW licensing crap, these datafiles have to be created off this site by other Users. It is very easy to change the catalogs. For example, you can correct mistakes made by the datafile writer, you can only show the models you own as available, or you can delete a unit you hate. I have been playing with it, and it works great. Army Builder may be prettier, but Battlescribe is free-er. Link: www.battlescribe.net/Setup: 1. Download program from site 2. Open "Roster Editor" 3. Click "File" 4. Click "Data Repositories" 5. Enter the link for the datafiles (I found a great list of datafiles on this site: catalogue.randomhit.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4 ) 6. Click "Add" 7. Click "Update Data" 8. Click "Done" Now you can make army lists, find them online, and print them for free! Enjoy! *edit* Actually, I am not sure if you can store and find your lists online. I will try later.

Wazzdakka says "I was once a fearsome, uncivilised ork. I was illiterate, and had the vocabulary of an eight year old (violent) child. Chaos and disorder were my bedfellows...until I found Battlescribe. Now I am a well-organized and distinguished gentleman who can prepare well in advance to smite my foes and spread the legacy of bloodshed and mayhem that is every ork's true calling. Thank you, Battlescribe, for making me the Warboss that I am today."
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

Im glad you have all fallen into the glory hole(wording intentional) which is computer aided list building. It is GREAT!!! I havnt checked out this free-ware but it sounds good.
Does anyone know what their reputation for accuracy is? Also how fast do they do updates? Do they have a bug fix email? If they are pretty good I would consider ditching army builder.
Oh yah, do they have a pdf output option?
I dont mind spending 1.00 per month for the pay version(army builder) if this new kid on the block doesn't quite have it all... worse case scenario, your whole list you created is in valid and you have to start from scratch. Even army builder has had this issue in the past, so I am really curious.

I've found one hokey thing. The Scourges for DE, th weapon upgrades come up invalid regardless of what you pick. It is only valid with the standard Shardcarbines. I'll look for an update, but other than that I think I've made 10 or so army lists all designed to reek havoc upon all.....ok, mostly Tim.

Ok, so I was like "its not army builder but for free what is there to lose?" So I downloaded the app on my lunch today and in the 10 extra minutes I had I signed up for the repository website.
So after this I poked around trying to find urls which would be compatible with the phone version, but maybe because I was rushing, I could not find them or it said I could not download them...
Does anyone have this running on an Iphone... If so is there somewhere obvious on the forum to get these alleged urls?
I followed all links for data files, but it just led into other threads which contained info available on the parent thread.
But I am new to this app and roster creating software... are there any pointers anyone can give me?

It is working on my iPhone. 1. Download app 2. Choose "Manage Data" 3. In "Enter URL" space enter the DataFile Repository: catalogue.randomhit.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4It will ask you which Game Systems you want. It took me several tries to download correctly, but when it did it has worked great. I hope this helps. If any further problems, give me a detailed description of the steps you are taking so we can figure out the problem.
