Just tonight, as I came home, turned on the lights, deactivated the death machines and trap doors etc...( the normal coming home from work stuff, you guys know) I noticed something interesting that I felt warranted discussion. You see, as the lights reverse dimmed, I happened to glance at the cover of the Necron codex.... In this glance I happened to notice a certain familiar shape. Take a look.  Now maybe it is because I was watching "science trek" the other night or maybe because it is just so obvious... But seriously if that Necron symbol on the bottom center of the codex is not a wire-frame top view of the Starship Enterprise then seriously WTF. Once I noticed it I could not avoid seeing it. I am sorry to ruin the Megadeth album cover beauty of the drawing.(which I truly love, and am jealous to not have the skills to create myself) But thats the enterprise...and Im only a moderate fan of the shows... Does anyone else see this? To me the painting is like a StarTrek version of the serpent of infinity. The ship is firing a photon torpedo ehile also about to get hit with one from the rear(not shown in image presented but on codex cover.... Of course this leads to the prime directive. On which episode of StarTrek did the crew come across an alien race which was being killed by their sun... I do think I remember one... Was this the inspiration for the necrontyr? Was the prime directive ignored, and the Enterprise later made into a glyph of power? Anyway... too funny... be doesn't require any imagination to see... |

Well if we're crossing series I see Terminators with capes made of Predator hair wielding Star Gate weapons. And don't get me started on the cover of the Tyranids Codex.

...nerd... I thought just posting on here assured this... Well if we're crossing series I see Terminators with capes made of Predator hair wielding Star Gate weapons. And don't get me started on the cover of the Tyranids Codex. I think what sort of gets me is that for a company that has a hard-on for litigation, they seem to have no qualms about "borrowing" ideas from other IP sources... Seriously Necrons are basically terminators, but its hard to copyright a robotic skeleton... especially when its not attacking los angeles and john conner is long dead... In reading the Dark Eldar Dex I really did start to invision the heamunculi as exactly a cinnabite... Note to those facing Aaron, your wounded, if not collected will be tortured! Also the warp gate they carry might as well be a puzzle box... I mean if they live in the webway... whats to say they cannot time travel or access locations elsewhere.... or access a portion of the webway which leads into the eye of terror which then allows for fucked up shit to happen.... Though maybe i will check on the release date of the mini in question and compare it to the release of the movie... Hope you all enjoyed! |

If games workshop comes out with some kind of time traveling army who travel via time and relative dimensions in space blue police boxes then I will personally go to law school and sue them on behalf of all that is awesome and original.

No they will just create an army that only move during night fighting rules(not being able to move or attack if the opponent can see them in the previous round), are made of marble, look like angels, are very fast, but can only throw rocks or attack hand to hand.
The only HQ choice will be an immortal time traveler, who lives/travels in a blue box(though the box will be a separate model which will be required and cost 66.00. It will fire hunter killer missles though)... The blue box will be called the "Harbitus."
GW will call him "Dr. Chrono McKnightly." Ironically, this hq choice will work to aid the opponent in rounding up/dispatching the creatures.
Every round McKnightly is within three inches of the box he may teleport(deepstrike) anywhere on the table. If he is close to a vehicle he may use his "Excelsior wand" to repair any vehicles.
So you see, a completely new and original idea.

That sounds like an original idea. But I think that army might need an elite unit incorporating a flyer/transport; the best part is, it could be a "rogue trader" unit, so they'll include characters from different armies. The flyer will be a "Lightning Bug-class" spaceship. It would have a max squad size of 9; they'll be led by a captain, and include two bodyguards for the captain. One will be a callidus assassin who chooses to look like a beautiful woman that kicks loads of ass. The other is a large, brutish, stupid and violent ork. There will also be a chaplain, a techpriest, a lovely female etheral (who provides more than just diplomatic services *nudge, nudge, wink wink*), a painboy and a culexus assassin. Oh, and a pilot for the ship, of course. Otherwise it's a wash.
