As you have all seen a bunch of my Space Marines, I have started the photo taking with the easiest other army to photograph.
I The Army... as it stands(or slithers)
All of my armies are still work in progress, but this one is coming along. I messed around with colors and finally decided on an off-white and blue scheme. Then after some details are painted, they will be dipped.
Here is an example of a finished model before basing.

I think I may add a bit more details pre-dip but it gets the idea across.
Here is a pic of the army assembled. Though I realized later I am missing the zoanthropes. They must have hid during the move, you know how the gribblies hate moving to a new place. Also I have a second Carnifex model, more termigaunts still in a box, 2 lictors, and a second Hive tyrant I am waiting to get wings for before I even start on.
For those non nid savvy individuals from left to right here is what is pictured:
LEFT
(front left) Large brood genestealers led by a brood lord, (lower mid left) brood of three warriors(one fully magnetized including head to be tyranid prime), (upper mid left)a brood of two hive guard, (upper left) large brood of gargoyles.
MIDDLE
(Bottom) large brood termigants(various weapons), (middle) tervigon I am in the middle of converting(fully magnetized to be able to use as a carnifex, see below for more), (back) two trygons(both fully magnetized to be trygons, trygon primes, and mawlocs. see below for details)
RIGHT
(bottom right) A Tyrant guard brood, (lower mid right) Hive tyrant(fully magnetized arms, like I'm going to give GW any extra money, (upper mid right) two more hive guard, (upper right) another large brood of gargoyles.
The other models not shown are not even based.
The other things which are packed away for safe keeping are the two mycetic spores. Here is my favorite one, try not to get sick!

Here is a better look at the Hive Tyrant

(The arms are fully magnetized because I want to keep the swarmlord as an option. Also note I clipped and bent the whip to be extended (also bent the claw like protrusions) to make it cooler!)
II Magnets and You, a game where you always win!(AKA: Science, its whats for dinner)
Here is a close up of one of the trygons. The white part is glued, the grey parts are magnetized!
![](http://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-5iyXn3yAOAw/TtC1kxJKxeI/AAAAAAAAAfc/1RxyfBunqPo/s512/P30044505.jpg)
(note: even the back protrusions are magnetized. As the model represents three creatures, it just seems silly not to magnetize)
Here is a closer look at the Tervigon(not the best pic)

and here is how it breaks down(and how you can see its super easy to make into a carnifex)
![](http://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-9X_zPzc09N4/TtC29l7-DjI/AAAAAAAAAfs/OEgzBaWQlBQ/s640/P30112200.jpg)
(if anyone was paying attention, it is a carnifex legs, tail, and head, a trygon torso, and generic monstrous creature scything talons.)
III Influence
As it is said in the codex that Tyranids are theorized to come from outside the known universe. Possibly traveling eons through cold dead space to reach the universe of the 40k realm.
at the same time I had been reading a lot of HP Lovecraft, inspired by the board game,"The Arkham Horror."
Combining these thoughts and especially the imagery described in the literary works...
It seemed to me a very tyranid origin story. As you all know I'm kinda into fluff. so it is a logical leap for me.
Thats it for now. Though I think you will all be happy there are no mechanized portions to this army... well spores... but there is no riding around in those....
IV Additions
I figured out after a couple games I need hormagaunts. So a couple giant squads of those will really seal the deal.
Besides this maybe a second broodlord and wings and swords for the hive tyrants... Just to keep people honest...
The Doom could be a fun conversion, but Im holding off as even I feel like it is over powered.
