All right guys, I need some opinions. I think I know what I'm going to do...but I'd still appreciate some input. As you all know, my gaming table is 4' x 8'. I started moving this weeekend, and after taking measurements I realized that the table will fit where I was planning to put it, but it doesn't leave much room for all the other things that need to go into that room.
After much debating I decided the most logical step is to cut 2' off the table. It's great having a record-keeping area, and a place to put trophies and bottles of beer...but I think shortening the table might be for the best. Before I reluctantly go and do this (I may shed a tear in the process), can anyone think of a good reason why I shouldn't?

I actually really like the idea of cupholders. And maybe a hanging tray to roll dice in.
Couldn't you just buy/make new 6 ft sides and swap them? Then you could keep the 8 ft sides for any future home for the table or for giant battles.

Do they still make those cupholders for cars that you hook onto the window? Or is that an archaic device that none of you recall and just proves how old I am? I like this idea! And yes, I do believe tournament size is 4' x 6'.

When the guys at Geek Chic introduced that table, it was all over the forums and the fanboys were drooling. I thought it was probably another overblown and simple item until I clicked the link.
Apparently Robin Williams owns one.

Seriously, I just love the,"You have two wishes left," statement... To be honest I laughed so loud my employees came running over to see what I was looking at... It is really cool though...
