Rumors are flying about a new Tau Empire Codex next year, and it will include a certain race of short, hairy Ork-haters that I have been waiting for 17 years or so! Here are some quotes from ghost21 on Warseer talking about the new Tau: Here is the link for those who want to read the whole thing: www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=321393Although not definite, this is as excited as I have been about the possibility of "Space Dwarfs" ever! I may put my other armies in shoeboxes and concentrate on these little guys.

Owing to the Tau rumors which have been flying around for the last year or so, I've shelved this army until the new codex comes out. I think it might now be wise to start saving my pennies, nickels and dimes...and prepare...

Wait. What? Huh? but... wha? Why are "Space Dwarfs" part of the Anime army? Seriously, the only reason they made the Tau was so they could attract Fanime brats who like the look of the Crisis Suits. The Kroot are the Gungans (as in Jar Jar) which is fine as long as they don't talk like Jamaicans. But why Squats with the Tau? Enlighten me!

The Demiurg, a race of short people who like mining and trading but hate liars and Orks (sounds like Space Dwarfs to me), were introduced into Battlefleet Gothic years ago. They even produced 3 Demiurg ships for the game.
In the Tau fluff, it has been written that the Demiurg trade heavily with the Tau and that they were even the inventors of the Ion technology used by the Tau.
The Tau Empire has been portrayed as more like the Federation from Star Trek, where they try to get other races to join their alliance rather than conquer them.
The Demiurg race is split into factions called "Brotherhoods", and many have actually joined the Tau Empire. Now it sounds like they will get models.

Was there a report of an unidentified flying object over your house in the last few days Servo? Cause it looks like Xmas might have come early for you!!! Now lets hope its not messed up some how. Hopefully a player can take a Demiurg general and field an entire army with it...
Though if they are squat-like, they would hopefully fill the needed cc role in the tau army. Kroot are good, but the lack of armor really hurts them... Now some armored Squats... err Demiurg running around with a 40k equivalent weaponry( mostly cc(hammers and power axes), some shooting, based on fantasy) would really fill a niche. Also I would make someone need to take a balanced list going up against a tau player since there could be a very serious cc threat, not to mention serious firepower...
I also read somewhere... that the railgun will shoot through vehicles, until it doesn't get a pen... That will really stop people from clustering up their tanks!!! If that is true....

>squats...never thought i'd live to see the day. Servo is correct about the Demiurg ships for Battlefleet Gothic - they actually made them several years back (i was still in PR), along with the Kroot Warsphere (pretty cool) and ships for a race called the Nicassar. i keep an eye on the Fanatic ranges, cuz i'm always on the lookout for interesting bits for conversions. speaking of that, do we still not have any Imperial Guard players?<

Im always pondering a small renegade list... I do have a friend in Indiana who has so much guard its almost silly... I mean to the extent of three baneblades.... but he has a different gaming group...

Call me a late bloomer but after reading the Dark Eldar Codex I have a new found affection for the Tau. And an absolute hatred for the Dark Eldar. Even those hot ass wyches, and you know how much I like bad girls. I hope they are privileged with the addition of the Demiurg. Anything that help them kill more Dark Eldar.
