How should the writing of Battle Reports for the Campaign be handled? This will be a poll, but let's hear some suggestions for candidates to vote for first. Perhaps something like this: - Let the players decide before each game who will write the Battle Report.
- Both players should write their own portion of the Battle Report.
- The Loser of the game should write the Battle Report.
- The Winner of the game should write the Battle Report.
- I do not care about Battle Reports and I do not want to write any.
Other suggestions?

Servo, Thanks for starting this thread! If one of the goals of this first campaign is to follow up on the mechanics by checking battle reports a discussion on this will be critical.
After much pondering a few things have become clear. There will be a lot of battle reports being written with multiple battles happening per game round.
Here is what I have come to as a discussion started. I suggest we have basic requirements per game, per turn for the reports.
1)Per Game: Army lists(maybe very general) 2)Per Game: Win, Lose, or Tie and by what margin. 3)Per Game: Thoughts on how campaign rules effected play. 4)Per turn: What units entered the game(deep strike, reserves etc) and from where. 5)Per turn: Who killed who, per unit on unit battle. Maybe avoiding a with what all together.
Just a simple break down of events, nothing fancy.
Obviously I like to write, so if people want to do more do it...
I think we could just keep track on paper or on a note app and it will be easy... also no memory required!!

Oh and while historically since the victor writes the history books, it might be appealing to have the winner write the reports... I think I favor the loser writing the report as an incentive to win... Always an agreement could be struck in the event that time is short for one party or the next...

An option was left out:
6) I don't want to be bothered writing battle reports so I'm going to hire a totally hot, insanely large-breasted assistant to take notes and write them for me.
Ok, now to be serious. I recently read a battle report where each player wrote what happened on their turn. I liked this because it gave two different styles to the report, and allowed each player to provide their own fluff on their army. And it seemed like the challenge wasn't over for them; the game may have finished, but they were still trying to outdo each other in who could write the better report. It made for a more interesting (and fun) read.

I am really not interested in writing Battle Reports, so I think the best way would be for the players to agree before each battle. That way they can write a 2-sided report if they want, just have 1 person write the whole thing, or not even write one.
I do not think asking the Winner or Loser to write the BR will work since you would not know who is writing until after the game. Who would take notes? Ellis's big-breasted secretary?

I think it might work best to decide how this will be done on a game-by-game basis. I'm not all too thrilled about writing reports myself (feels like work!) but I may want to give it a shot sometime. And if my big-breasted secretary is indisposed the day of the game...well, good thing most smartphones have a voice memo capability.

Leave it up to the decision of the people playing the game. If a game comes along that seems worthy of written description then I would volunteer to do it if I'm involved in the battle either by just being present or actually playing.
Not really sure that the campaign is going to make it easy to do this EVERY time. that's a lot writing, and after a while we're going to get bored with trying to be creative.
I'll volunteer at times I'm sure just because I enjoy teasing my creative writing muscle once in a while and if I know ahead of time then I'll definitely take notes.

Seriously, I suck at writing battle reports. By turn 6 I've forgotten turns 1-3. Call it post traumatic stress since I tend to lose 90% of my models every game. Yet I still tend to tie.
