Battle report vs blood angels
The battle for Schaumbek IV had been a massive military campaign... Legions of imperial guard and space marines alike had been called upon to cleanse the Ork warlord Waaghfist Thudapunch and his near legion of mechanized doom... The imperial guard fought bravely on many fronts but the green tide was just amassing trophies and taking objectives... The first marines on the scene were the Blood Angels... Mephiston had other pressing "lord of death" matters to attend to and was not present, but several companies were represented. These marines, mostly in the form of strategic Storm Raven troop drops and thunderhawk Baal predator drops decimated the unsuspecting horde. The tide turned... shortly to the favor of the emperor. The cunn'in Waaaghfist thrilled at the opportunity of taking beaky trophies launched a devastating counter assault destroying the Baal preds with his killa kans and matching the Blood Angels speed with his armada of trukks... There was bloody fighting. Many a warrior succumbed to the red thirst and death companies roamed the charred wastes looking to eviscerate green flesh. The battle had unfortunately become stalemated... Out of the warp came reinforcements... A mechanized wing of red templars dropped into orbit... Waaaghfist had seen this coming in a premonition and had ork boarding parties ready for deployment... The orks smashed into Red Templar ships taking out communications relays, tore off defensive and offensive weaponry and finally boarded for an all out assault... The fighting lasted days massive swarms of ork boys tried taking the ships but as the fighting continued and the green bodies piled up... They decided to turn and run... With the ships now secure the Red Templars landed to aid in the fight. Working closely with the Blood Angels on many fronts they pushed the Orks back... Though the battle was far from over both sides saw the outcome... The imperium would take this planet back...
It was on a misty morning, after the intel had been gathered, that the Marshall of the Red Templars and the Chaplain of the Blood Angels were at "the big board" discussing tactics when an argument ensued. For fluff purposes I probably have to give a bit of a back story... Before the emperor was placed in his eternal throne and before the fall of mankind there existed a technology which many had taken for granted. This technology was known as "the bell." it meant many things to many different planets. Some described it as simply bliss, while others ascribed a spiritual purpose saying it made them whole( or more holy depending on translation), some merely felt it was a stable nutritive food supplement wrapped in a high caloric blanket or covering(possibly ridgid) nutritive tortilla wafer of the emperors love. The recipe for many of these nutritive arrangements was closely guarded on terra by what the emperor himself would later call "Bell Marines." To those across the galaxy the bell marine was a symbol of Stoic nutrition, before the fall of man a film named demolition man was made to exault it's honor, to the emporer the idea of a power armored warrior traipsing across the battlefield with a bolter in one hand and a bean burrito in the other was the true meaning of human existence... After the fall the recipes were lost... The few Bell Marines secretly hid beneath the ancient "city of Mexico"(Mexico city) and kept the recipes they were able to save alive. Most year 40,000 "taco bell" foods were freeze-dried at the fall. Huge production facilities took over what once were shopping malls and parks.... The future of mankind was going to be zesty! So much was amassed that space marines in general eat a diet consisting of nearly 80% taco bell... But there has been a growing technology gap as certain chapters have access to certain bell related technologies... It is in this battle where we see the ugly side of taco bell, the battle of MEXI-LUPA...
As previously stated, the Marshall and the chaplain were looking at the big board, fighting an enemy as vicious is hard work so in accordance with policy they took their regularly ordained wartime "bell period"... The chaplain went to his Blood Angel food repository, deposited multiple meximelts on his planar food serving dish, the Marshall did the same except with chalupas neither knowing the difference as it was common practice(regular tacos were for the grunts after all).. Eager to continue planning they both met at the big board with their respective bell technologies... This is where the fit hits the shan... Neither leader had ever seen the technology before and "had to try it." or they would "die." The flavor differences plunged them into a state of near slaaneshian ferver. With their years of training neither leader wanted to show their delight... So the Marshall tried to pull rank, the chaplain trained to resist could only point out the fact that if the emperor had wished for Templars to have the technology they would have it... The Marshall, having almost never been told “no!”, even by the fairer sex, tried to explain that the gene seeds of many of his soldiers were those of blood angels and so meximelt technology should be his... The chaplain coldly explained it could never happen unless by force... A challenge the Red Templars would accept... So the battle lines were drawn... The chaplain knew he would get the chalupa tech, confident he would steal it with his well trained troops...
The battle
Pitched battle, objective seize ground
Set up:
Red Templars mech up for the zesty prize of a lifetime putting rhinos right at the edge of deployment... Dreadnought "Burritas" to be sent down to secure the transaction.
Blood angels set up in the fabled,”tower of invincible tacos,” formation placing devastators up high and soldiers below... The death company stayed close to bell marine proximity as a counter charge eating as many meximelts as possible... fueling the flames of denial…
Turn 1
The Templars head towards the tower... It's their source of tech and we hear it's awesome...
The bloodangels let loose a volley of heavy weapons slowing a rhino down...
Turn 2
“They are all around us,” the Marshall exclaims... He leads the charge against a few hungry tactical marines decimating the squad. Those present remember hearing the words "for the melt" but these are rumors... "no no no," he said as he power sworded through marines like they were paper.
The blood angels retaliated with another hellish volley of heavy weapons immobilizing a resilient rhino... This rhino contained the emperors champion and a squad of hungry marines.
Turn 3
The drop pod arrives and Burritas staggers forth... Missing everything he shoots at... The drop pod machine spirit also shoots it's deathwind missle launcher which also misses... The emperors champion assaults a squad of marines by himself while the rest of the marines he was with go after the squad totally missed by the dread.
Blood angels send another volley of doom further hindering another rhino. The deathcompany attacks the drop pod but are so full they do no damage... vanguard vets primed for data download land and head towards the undefended templar hq... Shouting "Chalupas for all!"
Turn 4
The templars rush forth on their front lines... But the Marshall sees the deception of his fellow marines and orders a full movement back to the hq.
The champions rhino, now operational, gets him closer to the tasty melt...but he is to be let down, it is one bell run he will never forget as his rhino is blown apart by lascannons…. He barely crawls from the wreckage determined to finish the mission…
The Blood Angels chaplain sensing weakness in his full deathcompany jumps to intercept the charging mass of templars and begins what scholars call a “super battle.”
The Chaplain reaches into his “awesome-pack” and pulls off nothing barley scraping a few Templars neophytes who fall crying for their mothers… the true initiates fight strong but don’t even make the chaplain flinch.
The Death company destroy the drop pod and jump towards the chaplains melee…
Turn 5
The Marshalls squad charges the interlopers and manages to finish off most of them… one blood angel, with a powerfist remains in the after the first assault.
The champion runs toward the objective but finds himself far from the objective as he has has been contemplating his possible future of being a bell marine…
In the Blood Angel half… the assault continues finally killing the last tech stealer…(no Chalupas for you was reportedly murmured over his corpse)
And surprisingly it ends…
Command sent its next maneuvers and there was no time to quarrel… again they returned to brothers in arms.
