So... Necron Flayed Ones are UGLY. Also, they are way too expensive since they are "Fine"cast. It seemed like they would be easy to convert from Warriors, so I did a search. I found people thought the same way about Immortals, Lords, and Crypteks too, and there are many tutorials and suggestions on how to convert them. Here are some good ones I found: Flayed Ones- Video: Converting Flayed Ones from Warriors:
- Tutorial: Converting Flayed Ones from Warriors (Easy; looks OK.): Dakka Dakka
- Tutorial (post #40) and finished pics (post #92): Converting Flayed Ones from Warriors (More complicated, but looks AMAZING. Better than GW's.): 40k Forums
Crypteks- Video Tutorial: Converting a Cryptek from Lychguard and Deathmark bits (Fairly easy and can make 5 of them!):
- Photos: Converting a "Veil of Darkness" Cryptek from a Fantasy Wraith and Deathmark bits: The Dice Abide

We have a couple Necron players here, and I want to start an army someday, so I thought this should be on the record as alternatives to the too-expensive Finecast models. Any other ideas?

I read somewhere that perhaps finecast might go away... Although, if plastics do become available the price likely wont change...
Also, converting your own stuff is what the hobby is all about... and if you get the bits on ebay most likelybig savings!!
Also custom models are way better! Why have what everyone else has?
