Now bear with me a bit as I know each army could be played many ways... however successful and easy to wield variants of these forces place a signature style upon them. After looking at a rock, paper, scissor, lizard, spock diagram the thought came to me to construct a diagram of typical army play styles showing the different races...
Now a ven diagram might illicit the same if not a better/more accurate result, visually I felt like for the chart to work a ven diagram was not going to cut it.
Also, as I have been playing 40k for some time now, I have always felt that many armies have strengths and weaknesses. Its what makes them unique! While many races posses the ability to perform tasks it is not their specialty or what they are known for. Yes obviously there are exceptions, lootas for one, tyranid warriors for a second, striking scorpions for a third... well you get the picture...
In one end of the spectrum there is shootyness, then you have your psychic races, there are those who have many troop units and those with few specialized troops, and to explain the game to someone new it could be a boon to put together something which makes it easier to understand...
Perhaps it is not possible... but with a little group thought I was thinking we could make it work...
So here is my first stab at it:
Across from Eldar: Necrons, yes still partially shooty but no psychic abilities and more vehicle/cc driven
in new dex.
Going clockwise, Next to Eldar, Grey Knights, across from them Orks. Soo many vs so few.
Next clockwise: Space Wolves
But where does it go? a chart I once thought easy to create is much more difficult...
help is requested! Who is the anti- of each force... to many fingers point to the same armies... but maybe I am not analyzing it correctly... More to come!
