My friend did this scenario at a tournament with his gaming group it also sounded like fun.
Rescue The Prisoners
-The defender gets gun platforms mounted on higher ground. Many gun platforms. -The infantry scoot in on chimeras from the shore in groups of 50 IG.(or multi player rules explained below) -They have to get into the "Base" to rescue the prisoners. -Once the turn after the prisoners are rescued, the defender gets reinforcements in the form of drop troops to attempt to stop them. -The caveat in this scenario is that once a full squad of troops gets killed, the attacker gets another one to replace the fallen.
Its a real meat grinder. Totally set up for IG vs IG... but could really work for any army if set up correctly. Without enough amphibious vehicles, players were just starting on the beach. It works great for multiplayer in that the defender gets one squad of defenders(most likely heavy support) per squad on attack. The attackers get only one squad so you really have to work together best part is that if your strategy didnt work the previous time... you get more troops in the next wave of attack.
I think they had people at their table trying it out for the whole day, and only once did the prisoners get rescued.
If anyone is interested I can easily get the exact formula to make this work properly, It turns out there was a lot of testing done to make it very difficult but achievable. Of course pouring resin for water turned out much more time consuming:P
