Looks great! I am still painting my nids... and I hope a flying tyrant unlocks gargoyles as troops in the next dex... Man! I needs me some hormagaunts!

>i've been painting a lot of hormagaunts lately. i have 30 at the moment (one full-strength brood), but i want two broods. with the sprues i have atm, i can make 1 full strength and 1 minimum strength (10), or i can field 2 broods of 20 each. i need to buy another couple boxes. as for termagants, i have 4 full-strength broods, 30 each (120 'gants!!!). good cannon fodder, and they can shoot back. wish GW would make a biomorph upgrade pack so we can field spike rifles and stranglewebbers again, but that'll never happen...<

Take a "whole swarm"pic! The Tyranids always scared me in how much they could absorb damage to let the killy aspects breech protected quarters... The new Tyranid dex supposedly promotes this idea as well...
Individually the units are unfocused and either scared or hungry... over the years it must be an impressive swarm!

For some reason I can view your old pics, but when I try to enlarge the new ones, the Barracuda filter at my work blocks it out. Hmmm. I'll have to check it out from home.

It still pisses me off you cant take a Prime in a spore with the warriors... I mean if space marines can take any and all characters in a drop pod with troops.... arrgh!

I still think this is one of the best paint scheme for Tyranids. Great work!
But that is a lot of bright green on the Tyrranifex weapon.
And I agree with Johnny Adjective that you need a whole swarm pic.

>and Servo, d'you really think the green is too much? i kinda liked the contrast to the muted purples. also, i had originally considered painting the Rupture Cannon in shades of pink, starting with Warlock Purple (old!) and working my way up to an almost-white pink. maybe i should have...hmmm, maybe i should try that on the Acid Spray! i've been looking for a colour scheme for that gun, and it'll go well with the dark red Lobsta-claws...food for thought, i suppose...<

I agree, the contrast is needed. It is just that much of a bright, contrasting color on that large of a weapon makes the weapon seem almost out of place.
The paint job itself is great, and since it met your intention and expectation, then it is appropriate and good.

>i've slipped back into "ork mode" for the time being. dug out 8 lootaz, 5 burnaz, and a few more ammo grots. plus i have 2 more fighta-bommaz (the first is ALMOST done), and of course, Da Chariot of Dakka (name change?). hey Servo, how's work coming on your tankhammaz? or did you finish them and i just missed that pic? anyways, that's all i have for today. off to continue searching the interweb for projekt ideas. i DID stumble on a few pics of a 40k scale Ordinatus platform...quite a few pics, actually. but until i can afford 2 Baneblades to cut up along with more "wall-type" terrain, that won't be happening anytime soon. alright, back to taking care of the little mother-to-be. i'll post anything relevant in a few days.<

I for one am also a fan of the bright green! It inspired me to use Some other bright color on my nids... Although Hive fleet Azathoth is light years from its first large scale battle... As for the "Wall Type Terrain," that new apoc gun structure looks to come with two large gun emplacements which look ripe for the converting... The are of course a bit steep on the price side of things, but still... ![](http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m3320284a_99120199029_VengeanceWeaponsBattery01_445x319.jpg) Thems turrets, wall pieces, plus ripe for ork conversion.... and yes, wrong thread for that last bit... just fit the previous reply.
