I would like to bring this up again. Nobody seems opposed to the idea, but we just keep not doing one. We do have a need for quite a bit of terrain.

I know Servo has an entire destroyed city, but I also have a few buildings... for the future... Also I have a meat grinder for shreading sprues into delicious non-nutritive crushed plastic cereal like rubble... also for the future... On the topic of terrain, why does GW not sell exploded vehicle pieces? I mean you want to mark where the vehicle exploded or are wrecked, and GW certainly wants to make money... so wtf? In the vein of Terrain, what does everyone think of making custom, army specific, objective markers? From what i have seen people use is terminator/nob sized bases and just model them in a unique way. Even something as easy as: ![](http://gloryandcoin.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/dsc_0283.jpg) Is unique and different... Just food for thought...

I'm up for a terrain day, but what about supplies? Do we all pitch in $10 or $15 and go on a shopping spree to buy materials?

Yes, please! I can host, if no one else is able/wants to/has the space. Maybe the weekend after Mardi Gras?
I have a water-effects kit I would love to put together, and I bought more thin foam for dangerous/difficult terrain. And I have to paint my Imperial Sector.
Also, I am looking for cheap trees. I love what Ellis bought, but I do not have a snow theme. Anyone know where you can get deciduous-type or jungle-type trees that are cheap and do not have lichen? That stuff comes off too easily if you do not put them on a shelf.

Everyone I know out here goes to a hobby store and hopes to get them on sale... The Xmas themed winter trees are so great because people are buying all of those Xmas village things... The rest of them are seemingly worth there weight in gold...

So since I felt like I just wasnt helpful, I went to the internets and found this series of videos.... The guy has another series where either he is high or drunk... But in this series he realizes people dont have an infinite amount of time... I feel like he is right, the wire method produces really "real enough" trees... Hope its helpful. youtu.be/NalhUuQWwG8youtu.be/zNTVv9xo2AMyoutu.be/-Gwgae6oJk8youtu.be/Wi6Hyw9YaRgThere is more, but I don't see anyone wanting palms any time soon...

I started using the wire method a few months ago; I have a bunch of twisted wire (which does look like it will make great trees, but I haven't painted or..uh...lichened(?) them yet. I have two bags of lichen at home and I do plan on finishing them. I'll post pics of them when I finally get some finished. The benefit is if they do get smooshed in a box, they can easily be re-shaped into their original (or close oenough) shape.
Here is a website I've been checking out for a while; there are a ton of friggin' awesome ideas on here.www.terragenesis.co.uk/

So, some time on the weekend of March 3-4 for a Terrain Day? Or would everyone rather use that time to get some games in?

I'm up for either. If we end up doing a terrain day, I've received the thumbs up from my significant other to use the dining room to host such an event at our place; I think she's curious to see what we come up with.
