Please email me your battle reports and any pics you may have from the Cake or Death Tournament. I have at least one pic from each of my games (I think). I want to update the blog. I also noticed that the site has a 100mb storage limit so I want to try and scale down the pics before adding them to the site. If you are like me and have already forgotten all of the details of every game then disregard this request.

Here's the report from the game that Tim and I played:
Mission Type: Seize Ground Objectives: 3 Deployment: Spearhead Turn order: Tim first to deploy and lead off
It's long, and I think I spent all my creative energy on this one.
This battle started off lop-sided with the Necrons having two objectives in their quadrant and only one in the Ghostmarine side, but once the proverbial whistle blew the Ghostmarines started their killin'.
Firing from a location on the other side of the planet were two devastator squads armed with 2 lascannons and 2 missile launchers, unbeknownst to the Necron army a squad of Necron Destroyers cutting out wide on the battlefield to get a lay of the land in their hover-buggies found out what laser tastes like. Since this planet was only sparsely decorated with terrain and buildings, the curious destroyers managed to lose 3 of their squad to this "LAY-ZER" of death.
Just like in the commercials...the few, the proud, the marines love to lead their assault (also because they needed another objective) and so around the northern side of big house in the middle came the Ghostmarines looking to get in close and see if their chainswords can make robots cry. Led by their chaplain of "I-get-to-pretend-those-hits-didn't-really-miss" and followed up by others armed with lightning claws of "I-get-to-pretend-those-scrapes-are-mortal-wounds" and then bookended with guys armed with plasma pistols of "ha-ha-you-think-you-get-an-armor-save" they managed to step JUUUST in range of little bugs at their feet (scarab swarms). Although the scarabs are no match for Mr. Big Tough-guy chaplain and his would-be band of "we make Tim roll more dice" once those scarabs were gone the destroyers and warriors laid some gauss fire into the squad, it gave this priest something to think about. Running away eh? Just a tactical reversal of direction is what they call it. But it proved a good idea since the destroyers managed to take out one more guy before they disappeared 'round the side of the fort. Beetles on the south side of the building fared even worse by not really managing to assault anything, but the long range missiles sure made some robots explode. Taking out units on the south end were anyone with a missile launcher....which would be...well...marines. I will say though that although the Ghostmarines were doing a fantastic job of whittling down the Necron phalanx, they were kind of running out of time.
By the 4th round the Ghostmarines had taken out 2 full squads of scarab swarms, almost a full squad of warriors, and half of another squad of warriors, plus…3 destroyers. Necrons took out some assault marines and a few tacticals, but nothing of note…yet.
In the 4th round we saw panic on the Ghostmarines as they realized they had to get their butts in gear and start REALLY trying now….All the sudden another 5 main assault squad and 5 man tactical squad poke out from behind buildings from across the map and start running across the field toward the big house in the middle to group up with their wicked-nasty dreadnought with a plasma cannon (oh the plasma cannon..) and get near the priest for penance apparently. The Necrons decided they don’t like that plasma cannon by the way and decide they are going to show these marines what warscythes do to adamantite.
The Pariahs and the Lord have been antsie in their pantsie to get into the fight with only a couple times shooting at marines just out of range they finally get to prove their point values. With a nasty final barrage of cheese cannon and heavy flamer (FIRE BAD!), one pariah literally cuts the sarcophagus off the dreadnought and with spectacular effects provided by Michael “EXPLOSIONS” Bay the dreadnought disintegrates into a big crater that the killing Pariah almost fell into.
The Pariahs and Lord manage to put the priest to bed as well, but not without taking heavy losses due to the sheer amount of dice that get to be re-rolled with that chaplain in there. Very little of the necron lord and his retinue remain but they manage to fend off one last attack from a charging tactical squad. With the assistance of the warriors and destroyers the tactical squad was fairly diminished by the time it engaged the Necron Pariah and Lord, and if by some random chance the ONE guy that was left peed himself and ran away from the Lord and tripped over the objective by the end of the 5th round. Guess what….no 6th round and that one last wussy managed to contest one of the objectives which tied us for the mission.
It was a great game of give-and-take between with the Ghostmarines breaking their way into the Necron line. Having that big fort in the middle made some interesting blind spots for heavy weapons and for assaulting. Dice rolling was pretty good overall on both sides really, with whatever weakness of the Necron Warriors was made up with the Pariah/Lord and Destroyers. Plasma Pistols never caused a wound on the Ghostmarine side from “Get’s Hot” but caused LOTS of wounds on the Necron side. The heavy weapons did a LOT of the killing overall from the Ghostmarines, but the Necron Destroyers have quite a few notches on their gauss cannons as well.

I'm unsatisfied with the Blog template. It doesn't simply stacks the entries into long pages and it doesn't show pics. You have to click on the attachment. I am going to hunt for an alternative template.

What I have seem for most battle reports on dakkadakka.com,waseer.com, librariumonline.com, etc... Is a battle report forum which opens into a sub-forum for each battle report. Pics are generally taken care of by a photo hosting site like photobucket and the urls are just pasted in. I have seem some where the pic is displayed in the text, which is way easier to follow... but as a non-computer programmer I am at a loss to explain the difference.
