Ork Weirdboy, a work in progress: ![](http://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-jTY8Eq1iFxk/Tt6dOiMc5iI/AAAAAAAAAkQ/ipy_ZOpx2Zo/s576/Ork%252520Weirdboy%252520WIP.jpg) I plan on painting him with tribal/celtic/shaman tattoos all over his body. I am considering cutting out some of his teeth and adding a wire at the bottom of the staff (like on the GW model). Opinions?

Nice! Did you find the bells, or did you make your own? The only thing I would add would be some chains around his limbs and a couple of grot minderz.

The bells are bits from Skaven Plaguemonks. He has one hanging off his belt in back, also.
The Minderz are one of the things I do not like about the GW model. I was going for more like the artist's representations in the Codex, where they look like Feral Orks with crazy powers. That is why I used Savage Boyz bits.
The chains might be good, though. Or would they take away from the feral look? Hmmm... gotta think about it.
Thanks for input.

I always liked the minderz idea. Somebody has keep the weirdboy in check so he doesn't run around sucking up all that orky psychic power like Snooki sucking up spilled booze from the bar floor. Ork minderz were so-so, but I thought the grot minderz were hilarious. As if they could accomplish anything. Silly grots!

Hmmm... You make an interesting argument, sir.
What bits/models could I use for Minderz? Maybe the little guy hanging on the banner pole in the Warbikes set?

That would be a good one. If you happen to pick up a box of grots, there are some in there that might convert nicely; look at the grot aiming a pistol in one hand and holding a knife in the other, and the one using both hands to hold one pistol out in front of him (there are two grots like this in the box). ![](http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/518o5CooNWL._SL500_AA300_.jpg)

How many bits have you added to that model? Looks GREAT!!! I truly love really awesome conversions!
Is it based on something you have seem=n in the GW artwork, or is this just a "servo special?" It looks cool no matter what!
My weirdboy helped me ere' we go, with a squad of 20 boys and a nob, on the second to last turn, in an objective game to seize another objective as far away as possible one game... though it was just a tie... he is no warboss in cc, but he can still bring the pain so to speak... A great model to add to your collection/arsenal!

Inspiration came from looking at the Fantasy Orc Shamans. I wanted less chains and leather coats, and more shamanistic feel.
Also, there is a pic in the Codex of a Weirdboy in this pose frying some Ultramarines, which looks really cool.
Bits: 1. Legs (Boyz box) 2. Torso (Savage Orc Boar Boyz; trimmed to fit) 3. Head (Savage Orc Boar Boyz; trimmed and a new ear added) 4 and 5. Arms (Savage Orc Boar Boyz) 6. Right Hand w/Spear (Savage Orc Boar Boyz; trimmed to fit) 7. Left Hand w/Axe (Savage Orc Boar Boyz; trimmed to fit) 8. Chaos Star Icon (CSM; trimmed and human skull cut off) 9. Ork Skull (Boyz box; trimmed to fit) 10. Electric "Prong" on staff (cut from Kustom Mega Blasta; Lootas box) 11. Bone (Ungors box) 12. Bells with Chains (Plaguemonks; trimmed Skaven symbols off) 13. Bell on back of model (Plaguemonks; trimmed Skaven Symbols off) 14. Bottom of staff (cut from Mek head; Lootas box)
So 14 bits, a piece of wire, and just a little green stuff. Total cost was less than $10 of new bits and some stuff from my bits box.
I had 2 single bells and a human skull I was going to string together to make a necklace, but I lost 1 of the bells when I was cutting it and it flew across the room. I am thinking I should get some more bells and try again.

>looks excellent, man! have you considered furs to go along with the leathers? pretty easy to sculpt, just smear some green stuff where you want the fur and poke points into it to get the texture. other than that, i love the pose, and the staff looks AWESOME. add some more dangling stuff if you need detail. actually, if you're gonna tattoo him, forget i said that. as for minderz, i removed two from the GW model cuz i didnt like em. i still have the one thats hanging from his right wrist, tho. to cover the removal of the other two from his back, i slapped a random spinny bit which looks like it might be a winch for the pile o chains. i looked online for Old Zogwort conversions - most suck, but i DID find 2 particularly badass ones based on the codex drawing. i'm going to be building/designing/sculpting my own Dok Grotsnik model - the only bit i like from theirs is his head. wish me luck!<

>belay my last - after browing Google for the last hour, i've decided to make my very own Old Zogwort as well. i begin butchering my existing Warphead tonite when i get home. i'm keeping the staff i've already converted heavily, just adding more to it, including lightning bolts at the top, as in the picture. posing him will be a pain in the ass, but oh well. also i liked the magma effects i put on the old warphead's cloak, but i'm sure i can do it all over again. he's gonna have a beard-squig, and the vipers are going to be green stuff, with lizardmen skink heads for the snake heads. may also get a couple packs of fantasy serpent bases. not sure yet. i'll keep you guys posted whenever the projekt takes off. be well, all.<

>while i didn't like the grot minderz on the Wierdboy model, i'm reminded of the old (very old) Madboyz models. they're mentioned in the last ork codex, something about breaking into another ork's home to steal back a favorite hat, etc., but i looked them up on eBay, and some of the (rather ancient) models aren't half bad. i think it'd be kinda cool to have a mob of Madboyz accompany a Wierdboy/Warphead. they'd probably have to be treated as either NPC's or basic boyz. according to the old models, tho, they don't have weapons as such - one is wielding a fish, fer crissake. but i'm tempted to track down a set just for fun. the one with the tophat is hilarious, as well as the one with the fish...<
